What a day. Woke up with a weird pain around my waist. One hour later pain was so strong I could crawl up the walls. I knew what’s coming. Went to hospital but before I went through all the paperwork the little friend made it’s way to the kidney. No morphine needed. Pretty big stone I gave birth to. Don’t recomend it.

Yay! Playing around with the digger\o/mThis weekend together with @antilopa we will be digging some trenches around the plot. Want to deliver electricity and water to few parts of the future garden. Also time to digg those water tanks which will gsther rainwarer and store it for the garden (6 of them in total). Plus the most exciting of it all, digging in 100meters of pipe which will work as a ground heat exchange for our ventilation system.

Ground is very hard so thing aint easy. Especially to dig the hole for those water tanks, but its like a little boy dream come true so I’ll enjoy while it lasts. We have the digger until monday…

In all the mess yesterday with disroot we did manage to get small work done in the house. We wanted to experiment with ideas for finishing the walls. Since we went for clay plaster because of its properties like eg. Being natural material and regulating humidity, slapping latex paint would just male no sense. So to get the walls white but no loose any of the properties, we decided to try out limewash. We got access to powdered slacked almost pure lime and made first attempt at creating the paint.
We did the first layer yesterday. We wanted to avoid having brush strokes because the wall itself has some texture already and we feared the walls will turnout too much looking like a village house (we like natural rustic stuff but it should be balanced). We experimented with rollers but those dont work well. We settled for using brushes followed by trowel to smoothen the suffice getting rid of brush strokes. Second layer should cover everything nicely, while still giving that cloudy look. We'll see.

Forgot to add bit about celling. I was struggling a lot of it. We decided to use wood fiber board rsther then typical drywall plates. However it cost me a lot of work. First of, we needed two layers to cover it nicely with lime plaster. However i did not use a fiber mesh thinking the layer will be thin and probably won't need it. It was a mistake as cracks showed up after drying. I the. Added another two layers of finish plaster and added more screws around cracks to keep things more stable. That didnt help and crack do show up. So as a solution, decided to make the celling polished to make it look cool and cracks will look like a part of it. I did some initial polishing and once fine grate sand paper arrives i will try to get it even more shiny. It does look good already

So little update on things. One of the servers (old main) has gone crazy while migrating some of the core services to the new server. I was trying to revert the process but that cause the server to go offline. Unable to bring it back up. I have gone down to datacenter just to learn the old server crashed due to filesystem corruption. This does not look good.

While doing filesystem check on the old server, I will try to get email and xmpp back online. Nextcloud, will come back after the filesystemcheck (fingers crossed).

Additionally social.weho.st is down so cannot communicate from official disroot account. Keep an eye on https://status.disroot.org for updates. Or check this thread to look at me crying.

And nextcloud is back. People missing their mailboxes are victims of little slip up I made when moving mailboxes and its rather an edge cases. So should get all the ymmy missing emails soonish too.

Base structure for stairs is in. Cant believe it. Still need to reinforce it with base structure for cupboard underneath tomorrow and we should be able to use the stairs now. We are still planning to put 2cm bamboo layer as a top layer. It will look,awesome, similar to the windows and will give the whole structure more strength.

End for today. Tomorrow hopefully rest of the starts and maybe even some structural reinforcement. Though, I also plan to prepare celling and walls in our kid's room for painting. We'll see. She's back saturday so there is little time to finish everything and surprise her with her own room she never had.

Nie defderujemy dopoki meta nie pokaze ze nasze obawy sa bezpodstawne. Federujemy i zobaczymy co sie stanie to w mojej opinii najgorasza z mozliwych opcji. Ciezko bedzie po fakcie, po kilku miesiacach zrobic zwrot. Ended the day watering the roof and enjoying the sunset. Since our roof has suffered from drought already last year and has problems to recover, I am doing watering every few days (since there is pretty much no rain). Now that the roof is slowly recovering, I started moving plants growing on the edge in the stones, and replanting them more in the middle of the roof.
I hope this will work out.

Oooouf... this was hard. Its extremely hot so that was the biggest issue. We had to clean IBC's from inside and connect them together. Those three will be used to collect rainwatet on north-east side of the house and we will use that water in the garden. The overflow will be directed into the pond.
Now time for little break and do the other three on south-west side.

Another point on the list done. We needed to properly connect water to the caravan from our house. 20m of 25mm pipe,.with a bit of pushing and pulling and its all connected. Good we prepared guide pipes in the foundation before so getting things into the house apart from a bit of digging was not bad. Once we do groundwork in few weeks we will dig the water, network and electricity pipes in the ground. Although now connecting caravan where we used to live (now just using it for shower as we have no bathroom in the house yet), in near future we will be replacing it with a proper workshop were we're hopefully going to do ton of cool projects.

Now time for ice coffee break.

is an agreement between all current Mastodon instances to never federate with , in response to the corporation's recent announcement that they will be making Facebook compatible with the standard, and thus allow Mastodon and other ActivityPub services to federate with Facebook.

Most of the arguments I hear in favor of federating with Facebook come down to trying to expand the reach of the fediverse and Mastodon in particular. If people on Facebook can interact with Mastodon, this can only grow the fediverse and make it more relevant. This is a failure to recognize the real threat of Meta.

This pro-Facebook sentiment is usually accompanied by accusations of supporters being irrationally dogmatic, overly paranoid about advertising and other for-profit ventures, overly concerned with privacy, and/or ignorant of how technology works. The attitude here is "Don't be so paranoid, just try it and you will see the benefits." This is a straw-man argument against .
